Civil Engineering Department

Civil Engineering Department at Assiut University was established in 1957, as the first academic institution in this specialization in Upper Egypt and the fourth all over Egypt.  The department has 80 faculty members and 29 teaching assistants. In addition to the undergraduate program, the department offers 13 post-graduate programs in four disciplines. Civil Engineering Department as well as other departments in the Faculty of Engineering at Assiut University were the first all over Egypt to be accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education in 2011. The department has eight main laboratories, that are supporting the educational process and scientific research, as well as providing technical consultations to the public community.

- Steel Facilities Laboratory
- Chemicals of Construction Materials Laboratory
- Highway and Airport Engineering Laboratory
- Surveying Laboratory
- Water Facilities and Hydraulics Laboratory
